LOUISA MENKE IS A PHOTOGRAPHER AND VISUAL ARTIST, BORN IN ALGERIA, RAISED IN THE NETHERLANDS AND CURRENTLY LIVING IN SPAIN.

SHE BEGAN HER CREATIVE JOURNEY WHEN SHE STARTED SKATEBOARDING IN 1996, QUICKLY MAKING HER WAY AS ONE OF THE FIRST WOMEN IN PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARDING IN EUROPE. IN 2009, SHE ENROLLED AT UTRECHT'S UNIVERSITY OF ARTS, AND GRADUATED IN 2013. TWO YEARS LATER, SHE RELEASED HER FIRST BOOK, “SOME TIME TO SMILE”.
IN 2017, SHE CO-FOUNDED “FORGOTTEN FANCLUBS”, AN INDEPENDENT ART PUBLISHING HOUSE, WHERE SHE DESIGNED AND PUBLISHED SEVERAL BOOKS, INCLUDING TWO OF HER OWN.

LOUISA'S ART SHOWS AUTHENTIC PERSONAL STORIES AND EMBRACES THE UNFAMILIAR.  THROUGH HER WORK, SHE ADVOCATES FOR EQUALITY IN ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE. HER ART HAS BEEN FEATURED IN GALLERIES AND MAGAZINES AROUND THE WORLD.
